GreatSkin® is
proud to introduce the flagship product of SkinMedica to New Mexico. This
product is called TNS recovery Complex™ and appears on our home page
as a featured product.
I selected this particular product after researching literature on various
rejuvenation lines, not completely satisfied with the current dogma of
skin renewal. Current skin renewal programs generally employ exfoliating
ingredients like tretinoins (Retin A) and glycolics which eventually result
in a thicker more vascular dermis, but the end result can be often irritating
and tough to endure along the way. Redness, skin irritation, flaking, itching
and peeling result as the stratum corneum is denuded. The body's natural
response and defense is to thicken and vascularize the dermis, ultimately
resulting in a more healthy skin tone and texture. Some patients just can't
endure the program in the middle.
SkinMedica's TNS Recovery Complex actually utilizes skin growth factors
harvested from live tissue cultures as the medium which stimulates skin
renewal and line reduction. The product works not through exfoliation,
but through growth stimulation. It is, to my knowledge, the only product
licensed by the FDA for distribution by physicians containing such large
concentration of active human growth factors. The growth factors are Vascular
Endothelial Growth Factor (VEG-F), Transforming Growth Factor-Beta (TGF-B),
Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF), and Interleukins
IL3 and IL6, natural anti-inflammatory and immune modulating proteins.
The product is absolutely non irritating and can be used as a growth factor
on freshly resurfaced skin. The product is a serum used directly after
toning on clean dry skin. The combination of the active growth factors
harvested from human tissue culture listed above is marketed as "Nouricel-MD™." Skin
Medica has the exclusive distribution rights to this tissue factor growth
stimulation protein combination.
Double blind studies comparing placebo to the active product on one side
of the face compared to the other using objective techniques to measure
skin line depth have shown improving in this parameter as well as skin
smoothness, suppleness, dyschromia (pigmentation of aging) in more than
80% of subjects studied. In my own practice, patients have seen results
in as little as two weeks of therapy.
This product represents the cutting edge of bio-engineered harvested growth
factors for skin renewal and stimulation.
Practically speaking, I will be using this product in all laser resurfacing
patients, those undergoing Intense Pulsed Light Skin Renewal therapies,
those patients undergoing microdermabrasion, Erbium Yag, or chemical peeling.
I would encourage the incorporation of this product into any carefully
planned skin renewal program. It fits into the skin care program of virtually
any patient because it causes no skin irritation or sensitivity to light.
