Issue #6 - Greta Maneuvers Some Slippery Slopes
The air was crisp and clean on the slopes in the Berkshire Mountains. It was Face Magazine's Annual Retreat/Pep Rally/Guy Thompson's State of the Union Weekend.
Even so, Greta had to admit a day of cross-country
skiing had just about put Guy Thompson out of her mind.
She propelled herself down one last slope and thought
well, now if I can only get Zane Craven out of my mind!
But no such luck, because even though it had been almost a month since Zane had escorted Greta around La La Land, the bad
boy Hollywood darling was still calling. Yes, still
calling even after Greta had turned in her scathing,
but hilarious expose on the egotistical actor. Oh,
and what was in the little velvet box he gave her on Valentine's Day - a bribe! A ticket to accompany him to the Academy Awards.
Yes, Zane had actually been nominated for Best Actor.
It seemed like the indie prince was making it into
the Mainstream.
"So, are you
going?"
Greta
looked up from the ski rental shack to find Guy Thompson
staring at her.
"No!" Greta
said quickly. "That would be unprofessional! "
Guy gave her a little
smile. "Dinner, unprofessional?"
"Oh,
right," this was about all Greta could get out before Guy disappeared. Greta quickly
gathered up her things and walked up the snow-covered
path to her cabin. Once inside, she quickly undressed,
got into a steaming bath and exfoliated her dry winter
skin with GreatSkin Sea Salt & Papaya Body Buff. She breathed deeply, suddenly feeling as if transported to the tropics. After
rinsing off, Greta patted her skin dry with a towel
and then applied GreatSkin's Deep Foaming Self Tanner. No matter how crazy Guy makes her, she mused, Greta would be comforted by the thought of having
beautifully bronzed skin. Next she applied GreatSkin Shea Body Butter all over and inhaled the scent of cocoa butter.
Greta
looked in the mirror, and smoothed on GreatSkin Retexturizing Face Primer. It went on like silk, and she could already feel how it was working to give
her skin a new perfection. Greta finished off by applying GreatSkin's Mineral Sheer Tint to her face. It gave her an immediate glow and protected her from the sun with
a 20 SPF. Greta felt ready for anything.
Anything
that is, except this gal by the name of Laurie. It
was later that evening and Greta was relaxing in the
sauna when through the steam she heard a woman talking
about how terrific Guy was and how funny he was and
how talented he was. "Oh yes," she told Greta, "Guy said the most hilarious thing when we were in St. Bart's over the holidays."
Greta
tried to breathe evenly and remain calm.
Laurie looked at Greta.
Greta looked at Laurie.
Change the subject, she thought. "Is that where you got that amazing tan" she asked Laurie.
"No,
I wouldn't expose myself to the sun like that. It's GreatSkin's Self Tanner." She adjusted her towel. "And in the summer I always use GreatSkin's SPF 30 lotion. It has green tea in it. Wonderful!"
How could Greta be jealous
of a gal who uses GreatSkin? After all, she was a kindred
spirit. Oh well. She looked at Laurie and smiled. "Do you often get together with Guy?" she asked a little sadly.
"Of course
I do!" Laurie laughed. "He's my brother!"
