#15 - Greta Goes Home For the Holidays
T he
sounds of holiday music were all around Greta as she
stepped off the train in New Haven, Connecticut. She
would have been in the holiday spirit if it weren't
for the fact that Guy couldn't be with her. It was
the busiest time of the year at Face Magazine, and
well, he just couldn't get away.
Greta walked out of the
station and looked for a familiar face, all the while
reassuring herself that it would be fine to spend Christmas
with just her mom and dad. Her dad was a professor
of geology at Yale and her mom taught French literature
and wrote poetry. She was a minor celebrity in the town, but what she was really famous
for was her fabulous skin. At nearly fifty, Greta's mom had a youthful glow that made
her look years younger.
"How do you
do it?" Greta asked her mom, as she approached the family car.
"You know,
I'm the Queen of Parallel Parking!" her mother laughed.
"No, not that,
Mom. Your skin. It's radiant."
"Darling, you'll
be the same when you're my age. That's why I introduced
you to GreatSkin. As Greta's mom helped her with packages,
she described how she started her morning with GreatSkin's Age Defying Milky Cleanser. "It's packed with Vitamins A and E and pure essential oils, so while it gently
washes, it leaves the skin refreshed, toned. Then I
use GreatSkin's Lavender Toner. "
"I
use that!" Greta interrupted, putting her luggage in the trunk. "I love the combination of lavender, sage and chamomile!"
"Well, here's my
new secret weapon again fine lines," her mother whispered. "Hexa-Peptide Plus Tightening Serum. It's amazing! Then I finish with All Day Moisture Lotion--it's so lightweight, but also helps diminish those fine lines."
All
the while, as Greta listened to her mother, she felt
happy to know that one day she would age gracefully
too. That morning, Greta had also started her day with
the Age Defying Milky Cleanser and Lavender Toner. She had just treated herself to GreatSkin's Hydra-Boost Moisture Masque which contained anti oxidants like Vitamin A, C and E. Finally she, applied
some Vitamin E Creme to her skin. It felt so smooth and truly healed and protected her skin from
the winter's cold.
And
now, she turned to get into the car when suddenly a
voice whispered from behind her.
"Hey, stranger."
Greta turned around quickly
to find Guy standing there, looking so handsome in
his woolen Burberry coat and scarf.
"What
are you doing here?!" Greta gasped.
"Oh, Greta.
I just couldn't imagine Christmas without you!" he smiled.
Greta breathed. It was
so thrilling to see Guy standing there in front of
her. Here he was in her home town, the place she grew
up--among all the Yalies and the townies. There was
so much she wanted to show him. He took her hand and
leaned in for a kiss. And then noticed Greta's mom,
smiling at him. "And I wanted to meet your mom and dad--especially you, mom," he said, going around to the other side of the car and introducing himself to
the woman with the gorgeous skin, the woman who had
introduced Greta to her most important beauty secret
ever! GreatSkin.
