#19 - Greta Gets an Offer She Can't Refuse
When it rains, it pours. That's how it was in New York City on Saturday night. Greta huddled under Zane's umbrella, and tried to dodge the paparazzi, but it was impossible. Zane, as good-natured as ever, laughed as he put his arm around her and tried to usher her into the famed restaurant and watering hole, Elaine's. "You know, they never paid all that much attention, until I started dating you, Greta!" He held the door open for her and whispered, "You're the one that's got them so enthralled." And then he leaned in and whispered, "you look beautiful tonight, Greta." Greta smiled, and shrugged off the compliment, but secretly she was glad she had started her new springtime GreatSkin regime. She had begun her morning with an invigorating shower using GreatSkin Sea Salt & Papaya Body Buff. She loved the tropical scent and the way it made her skin feel so silky smooth. Once out of the shower, Greta patted herself with a big white fluffy towel and gently cleansed her face with GreatSkin Papaya Enzyme Cleanser. It immediately foamed up, gently exfoliating her skin, leaving Greta feeling clean, fresh, and vivacious. Next, she applied GreatSkin Papaya Enzyme Toner. She smiled as she inhaled the scents of cucumber, geranium and sage. Then, Greta applied her secret weapon against sun damage and aging - GreatSkin C Serum. Just a tiny drop of this powerful anti-oxidant helped protect her skin and build collagen elastin. And last, but not least, Greta smoothed on GreatSkin's Herbal silk Moisturizer. It left her skin with a radiantly smooth finish. In fact, Greta felt so renewed that she was completely taken aback when Zane led her into Elaine's, where she immediately bumped into the famous editor-in-chief of Face Magazine--her ex-boyfriend, Guy Thompson!
"Well, I see you brought your fan club with you," Guy said to Zane, almost snarling at him.
"Which fan club are you talking about Guy? I've got a lot of them," he laughed, putting his arm around Greta.
Guy looked at Greta and for a fraction of second, their eyes locked. She wanted to talk to him so much to tell him how she was feeling. She wanted to explain what had happened in St. Bart's, that it was all a big misunderstanding. She wanted to tell him that she was still in love with him. She wanted to tell him that Zane was only a good friend, and that her heart still belonged to Guy. But then suddenly, the crush of photographers separated them and beforeshe even knew was happening, Zane had ushered her out of the restaurant and into a waiting cab.
Later that night, in a little French Bistro in the Village, Zane clinked his glass of Verve Clicquot against Greta's glass. "Here's to your new job," he said.
"New job?"
"Yes, Greta," he paused. "I want you to work for my production company at Paramount. How does Executive Producer sound?"
"Paramount? Greta asked, trying to breathe. "Paramount Pictures?"
"Yes, Greta. You're going to Hollywood!"
